Walruses spend a lot of time hunting in arctic waters. When they need to rest, they move onto floating pieces of sea ice. Scientists have recently observed walruses frequently leaving the water to rest on land for longer periods of time. What is the most likely reason the walruses are resting on land instead of on sea ice?

There is less food available in the water, so they are seeking food on land.

There is less sea ice available.

They are migrating to the land because of the cooling ocean temperatures.

They are reproducing more.

The correct answer would be the second option. Most likely, walruses rest on land than sea ice because there is less amount of sea ice available for them to rest. As the average temperature of the Earth increases, sea ice melts and would appear less resulting for the walruses to find new place to rest.
