High plasma glucose level: glucose in the blood are not being absorbed my muscle cells, blood cells or fat cells. so their number keep increasing.

blood ph: as glucose are not oxidized, the body find energy from other sources like fat and proteins. this release high amount of ketone bodies in blood. ketones are acidic so ketoacidosis.
