All phase changes are examples of changes in matter. Matter is anything that has mass and takes up space. In nature matter exists in either of three forms i. e. solid, liquid or gas. A phase change is a transition of matter from one state to another. In nature, phase changes occur regularly and can also be induced by people. Usually, the phase in which a matter exists is mainly influenced or determined by temperature and pressure of its surroundings. By manipulating these two factors, a change in phase can be induced.
