Explain why mitosis is referred to as a process of cell replication

    Mitosis is a process of cell replication because in this process a parent cell will double its content (DNA, organelles, cytoplasm) and then separate them in to two identical cells. The replication is the ability of a cell making two exact replicas of its DNA.

    Another example of cell replication is meiosis.
