Quartz (also known as silica) is a crystalline pure substance composed of silicon dioxide (SiO2). It is, therefore, homogeneous.

It is good to know that inhaling finely divided crystalline silica can be poisonous and can lead to several diseases including lung cancer, bronchitis as well as silicosis.
