Describe how the substrate interacts with an enzyme in a chemical reaction?

    Enzymes interact with substrates because substrates fit into the active site of enzymes allowing them to carry out chemical reactions by lowering the EA (energy of activation level). Without substrates we wouldnt be able to do things like digest food.
