What type of bond is being cleaved during the conversion of atp to adp?

    Adenosine-tri-phosphate will release chemically bound energy when one of the phosphate bonds is violently ripped away in the mitochondria. Thus ending up with adenosine-di-phosphate. Mono - > Di - > Tri - > Quat - > Femto - > Hexto - > Hepto - > Octo and so on
