Two pink-flowering plants are crossed. The offspring percentages are 25% red, 25% white and 50% pink. If a red-flowering plant was crossed with a white-flowering plant what would the phenotypes of the offspring be?

    Let R represent dominant red allele and r represent white. Flowers with Rr are pink in colour.

    Rr * Rr - - - > RR (RED), Rr (pink), Rr (pink), rr (white)

    if RR * rr - - - > Rr, Rr, Rr, Rr (all offspring will be pink)

    this is because red is dominant and white is recessive. since all offsprings will be heterozygous and recessive traits are only expressed in homozygous condition, the phenotype for the offspring will be pink.
