I strongly believe that the chemicals are called neurotransmitters. Neurons, or nerve cells are cells that carry nerve impulses, they are made up of a cell body, the axon, and several dendrites. Signals move across the synapse, the places where the axon of one neuron meets the dendrite of another, using chemicals called neurotransmitters. Examples of neurotransmitters include dopamins, nitric oxide and glutamate among others.
