Describe the correlation between functional groups and the reversible processes of Dehydration Synthesis and Hydrolysis.

Dehydration synthesis is the process where two molecules or compound are joined together following the removal of water while hydrolysis is the spiliting of macromolecules into simpler unit by additon of water. Thus, the function group of dehydration synthesis such as H + from one component and OH - from other compound are removed while in hydrolysis, hydrogen ion is added to one component and a hydroxide ion (OH-) is added to another one.
