Why does marijuana stay in your system for so long answers?

THC is what gets you high and is very potent in most cases (depending on the marijuana). It also stays in your body depending on how much you smoked or ate. But if you eat marijuana (edibles such as gummies, cookies, rice crispie treats, etc) it’ll actually take longer for the THC to take affect because you consumed it rather than smoking it. It would usually take 30-45min for it to take affect.
