If the cell cycle is controlled by enzymes, what might result if the genes that control the production of these enzymes are damaged?

    Enzymes are designed to fast-track cellular activities. If part of the cell that controls the production of enzymes are damaged, it would be hard for it to undergo cellular division. If cellular division is slow and takes a lot of time, it would also take a lot of time for tissues to heal and to build organs and organ systems within an organism.
