What is a dangerous weather condition in which a layer of warm air traps smog close to Earth's surface

Inversion

The act of trapping warm air under cold air. Since no air can escape the carbon dioxide is trapped as well.

This is a strange weather condition since heat rises but the cold air is not letting it.
