Sinkholes are formed as a result of slow and natural process of erosion. This geological phenomenon usually occur at a region where a limestone is few hundred feet of the land's surface. Sinkholes have also been known to expand to approximately 100 meters in diameter. When rain occurs, it is absorbed by soil where it also absorbs carbondioxide, reacts with decaying vegetation and results in water being slightly acidic. As the water moves under the surface, it slowly dissolves limestone and create a network of voids. As limestone dissolves, pores enlarge, creating a reservoir for acidic water. Hence, sinkholes are formed
