When you are preparing to view a specimen, how do you initially make sure you will be looking at the part of the slide that has the specimen. you're interested in on it? I would center the specimen first because if you look first through the lens, there is such a large amount of zoom that you wouldn't be able to tell if you are looking at the correct area.
