The vesicles inside the cell are mostly propelled by the microtubules in the cytoskeleton of the cell. Colchicine is a potent microtubule inhibitor (other microtubule inhibitors are Paclitaxel and Vincristine) that will disrupt the locomotive mechanisms of the vesicles leading to stopping or slowing down of movement of the vesicles.
