Answer: Respiration is a process by which living organisms exchange gases especially oxygen and carbondioxide with the environment.
Explanation: Animals breath in oxygen and give out carbon dioxide while plants take in carbon dioxide and give out oxygen. Respiration is an enzymatic process by which every living cell obtain energy from simple sugars in the presence or absence of oxygen. There are two types of respiration: aerobic respiration which occurs in the presence of oxygen and anaerobic respiration which occurs in the absence of oxygen.
