Scientific Methodology involves the following procedures of

    -observing and making enquires,

    -formulating inferences and developing hypotheses,

    -performing controlled experiments,

    -gathering and evaluating data,

    -and coming into conclusions.

Observation, hypothesis formulation, experimentation, interpretation of results, and conclusion.

    Explanation:

So, basically the main steps of the scientific method are observation, hypothesis formulation, experimentation, interpretation of results, and finally a conclusion.

In addition, there are some essential concepts for understanding the scientific method.

First, Observation in science must be made precisely and very carefully, with smallest details.

Then we have the hypothesis, which is a possible explanation for a given phenomenon and should be tested by a large number of experiments. If the hypothesis is confirmed, it may origns laws and theories. A law can only be formulated after a certain number of similar observations since it has the characteristic of describing events that invariably and uniformly manifest themselves.

Finally, the theory is probably the step of the scientific method that happens most misunderstandings. It is a hypothesis tested by various experiments, from different people, and with high reproducibility, that can generate a theory or model. So, unlike common sense, to become a theory there must be very robust evidence and little contradiction on that subject.
