In the heart dissection you performed, you noted the muscular walls of the ventricles. The walls of the atria, however, were much thinner. Why do you think the ventricular walls are so much thicker than the atrial walls?

    Explanation:

    The ventricular walls are thicker than the auricles because the ventricles are tasked with the responsibility of pumping blood to various organs and to other parts of the body at a much longer distance than the auricles and the pressure of the bloodflow in them is extremely higher than that in the auricles.
