    Explanation: Artificial selection is the process by which humans breed plants or animals for particular genetic traits. Which corn plants are bred and allowed to carry their genetic material to the next generation has been decided by humans for several thousand years. This has resulted in plants with ears of corn today that are substantially larger than the ears their ancestors had, thousands of years ago.
