In the citric acid cycle, for each pyruvate that enters the cycle, one ATP, three NADH, and one FADH2 are produced. For each glucose molecule that enters glycolysis, how many ATP, NADH, and FADH2 are produced in the citric acid cycle?

    Explanation:

    Since each glucose molecule that enters glycolysis yield two pyruvate molecules, then the number of pyruvate that enters the citric acid cycle is doubled.

    Hence, the number of each ATP, NADH, and FADH2 molecules produced in the citric acid cycle is multiplied by 2.

    Thus, 2 ATP, 6 NADH, and 2 FADH2 will be produced in the citric acid cycle by one glucose molecule
