Fish also forms an important part of diet of the people living in the coastal areas of Kerala, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Goa, and Gujarat. Fish attracts many people in India because it is cheap in cost and highly nutritious.
