Most reptiles are carnivorous and they swallow the prey whole. The use teeth only to hold the prey. Poisonous snakes use fang for self-protection and killing the prey. Lizards that live here mostly eat small invertebrates, snakes eat tiny mammals.

Explanation:Amphibians and reptiles in particular have evolved many ways to catch prey. Some salamanders, frogs, and chameleons have evolved tongue projection, an adaptation where they use special muscles to fling their tongues out of their mouths and use them to catch insects up to several inches away and sometimes even farther.
