The cell wall is a layer found outside of the cell membrane in plants, fungi, bacteria, algae, and archaea.

Outside the cell membrane.
Explanation:
It stops unessesary things from entering the cell. It acts like a wall. It structural wall surrounds types of cells, outside the cell membrane. Provides the cell with support and as well filters the cell.
