The genes which code for proteins comprise of tri-nucleotides units which are termed as the genetic code. The translation of the genetic code results in the right kind of protein being formed.

The genetic code is important because it starts the transcription of the right kind of protein and ends it at the right time. Without the genetic code, it would be impossible to form the right kind of proteins. The process of transcription as well as translation would all go wrong due to absence of genetic code.
