Membrane proteins serve many functions. One of the functions is transportation of substances across the membrane. If a cell biologist placed cells into an environment in which a chemical has been added that blocks the function of only carrier proteins, the process that will be affected is?

    Answer: facilitated diffusion

    Explanation: membrane Transport proteins are essential in facilitated diffusion. due to the lipid bilayer of the membrane, some polar molecules such as glucose, amino acids, ions etc cannot pass through through with ease. such molecules are carried in and out of the cell through membrane Transport proteins.

    The molecules move from regions of higher concentration to that of low concentration, just as in simple diffusion
