Why is it necessary to divide the plants into two groups (a control group and an experimental group)

    The groups should be divided into control and experimental groups because; in the control group the plants would not be subjected to the independent variable or treatment which the experimental groups would. Hence there would be answers to the experiments and a wide range of data and analysis to be collected and conclusions to be drawn
