    In both the fungi and pteridophytes, diploid sporophyte is the dominant plant. The sporophyte develops spore-forming bodies called sporangia. These are borne in clusters called sori. When mature, the sporangia breaks releasing spores that are dispersed by wind. If the spores land on moist surfaces, they germinate to plants.
