Mitosis is made up of 4 stages: Prophase, metaphase, anaphase and telophase. The interface is not part of mitosis but of the cell cycle.
The interface is defined as the period between two successive cell divisions. In this stage, the processes of cell functioning take place. In addition, preparatory processes are performed to reach mitosis: DNA duplication, in which the cell doubles in size and increases the number of organelles. At this stage, the DNA is as chromatin.

During interphase, the cell is performing its normal functions and preparing for mitosis.
