    The part of the genome that is transcribed into RNA and then protein are the genes. Transcription factors bind DNA sequences called promoters to begin transcription, using the DNA template to make an RNA molecule. The entire gene is transcribed into a primary RNA, but not all of it is made into a protein

    There are certain regions in the genome called introns and exons. Introns are non-coding intervening regions, although they are transcribed into the RNA, they are removed during RNA processing before the RNA is translated into a protein. The exons are the part of the genome that becomes the final protein following translation. The RNA is then translated into a protein sequence
