    Explanation:

    The anatomic region present between lungs and chest tissue and organs. The mediastinum is the portion of thoracic cavity. The mediastinum extends from breastbone towards vertebral column. It is covered by the membrane called pericardium. The cavity comprises heart aorta, esophagus, thymus gland and trachea. The mediatinum is also divided in superior, anterior, posterior and middle regions for clinical purpose.

    Thus, the heart aorta, esophagus, and trachea are located in the mediastinum.
