In this case, the option D "Try repositioning the hearing aid or remove it and turn down the volume" is correct

    Explanation:

    Hearing Aid:

It is such a device that is used by the people who have some hearing problem.

It is a simple electronic device that has a Microphone that receive the sound from other person which is send to the Amplifier that amplifies the sound and send to the speaker so that the person with the hearing aid can listen the sound easily.

The option A is not correct as whistling sound give us a clue that batteries are not depleted. We can't turn up the volume as doctor can still listen the whistling sound but the 70-year old is not listening his sound so there is noise is in hearing aid. We can't use pen and pencil as it will difficult to write for a 70 year old person and will make conversation difficult. We can change the position as mentioned in option D or remove the hearing aid turn the volume down so that the old man can listen clearly.
