The guppy is a very adaptable freshwater fish, commonly found in aquariums world wide. The success of the guppy is mostly due to its ability to adapt to the changes in its environment. Guppies were originally found in the southern american continents and the Caribbean island, but has been exported all over the world, first as a means of curbing the spread of mosquitoes by feeding on the larvae and then as a pet. Over time, guppies have found themselves in diverse environment, and some have undergone mutation of body parts just to adapt. So, the need for adaptation to their constantly changing environment has led to mutation in the guppies.
