Cladistic analysis compares the shared and shared derived characteristics of organisms which are thought to be of same ancestral origin.
Explanation:
The branch of sytematics concerned with inferring phylogeny is termed as cladistics. It determines the branching pattern of evolution. It decribes the sequence of branching of ancestral lines. The basic idea behind cladistics is that the members of a group share common evolutionary history, and are closely related, more so to members of the same group than to other organisms.
