Water pollution is an issue because it disturbs the environment and the organisms living in that environment. If water is polluted due to industrial wastes and put garbage in it, it adversely affected the aquatic animals which lives in that water and disturb the ecosystem. The polluted water causes many diseases in humans when this water is used for drinking purpose. So water pollution is a serious problem.

In this experiment, why didn't we just use ethanol to extract the trimyristin (instead of dichloromethane) ? this would have saved us a step and we would have been able to recrystallize directly after filtration.
