    The phosphodiester bond and nucleotides. The nucleotides that form nucleic acids are in turn composed of molecules: a phosphate, a pentose and a nitrogen base. Between the DNA and the RNA the fundamental difference is the pentose that include: ribose for the RNA, 2-deoxyribose for the DNA.
