How does carrying capacity limit population numbers

    The carrying capacity is the maximum number an environment can provide for a population where within a species there's no competition. So, when population numbers r above the carrying capacity, animals with in a species compete with each other. This can apply to more than a certain species. There r not enough resources for everyone, so not everybody will get resources to survive
