    The correct statement is option (D) water solution is also known as an aqueous solution.

    Explanation: All solute are not dissolve in water. Only polar solute dissolve in water because water is a polar solvent. Ionic substances are soluble in water because ionic substance is polar solute and water is a polar solvent i. e. it makes positive and negative poles. The negative pole is attracted by positive ion and positive pole is attracted by negative ion.
