    Infection occurs when virus or bacteria enters our body. They can enter through eyes, mouth, nose or even skin. Then, they multiply very rapidly and crowd the host's tissues and causes disrupt in the normal functioning of the host's body.

    Certain infections may lead to production of a chemical called pyrogens, which effect the thermostat setting of Hypothalamus, which is a small region of the brain, and elevates the temperature of the body and causes fever.
