What can be learned from ultrasound, amniocentesis, and chorionic villi sampling? What risks are involved in each procedure

    These procedures are used to check for foetal genetic abnormalities during pregnancy

    The risks for each procedure are as follows:

    Ultrasound: Generally safe procedure

    Chorionic Villi Sampling: Miscarriage, infection in the womb infection, vaginal bleeding.

    Amniocentesis: Miscarriage, Injury to the baby or mother, infection, and preterm labor
