An infant is admitted to the neonatal intensive care unit with exstrophy of the bladder. what covering should the nurse use to protect the exposed area?

    Moist sterile dressing must be placed to cover the bladder. This will prevent the bladder from drying up. The goal in putting a cover is to prevent loss of moisture and prevent infection. Covering the organ can also prevent trauma in the protruding part.
