Lipids, mainly phospholipids, made up the bulk of the cell membrane. how is the structure of the phospholipid so perfectly paired to the function of the call membrane?

    Because of the fat. And phospholipids have large molecules that does not allow other materials in or out of it. And you will understand better if you do the Glucose and starch lab.
