Fossils tell u if something has been there or not and u study it in some classes or jobs

Fossils are studied by paleontologist who tell us what the fossils are and also some fossils contain things from the past that no one knew about so then scientist can study the fossils and tell use what these creatures and things where like by also comparing them to things now
