Deforestation results in the decrease in the nature habitat of many wild species of flora and fauna which leads to extinction further resulting in an exponential decrease in biodiversity in the deforested area.

Deforestation decreases biodiversity by destroying habitat, separating adjacent areas of forest, and interfering with plant reproduction. Losing habitat loses food supply, which decreases biodiversity.
