    -All lipids mix poorly, if at all, with water.

    -In other words they are all hydrophobic (water hating).

    Explanation;

    -Lipids are a diverse group of hydrophobic molecules. They include fats, waxes, oils, phospholipids, and steroids.

    -Lipids are among the four biomolecules others being; carbohydrates, proteins, and nucleic acids.

    They are made of - C, H, O - with no specific ratio. The categories of lipids include; oils, fats, wax.

    -Their main roles includes; insulating and protection, and long term energy storage.

    They don't form polymers - only monomers.

    They don't mix with water - hydrophobic.

    There are three types namely; phospholipids, cholesterol, steroids.
