Huntington disease is caused by break down of nerve cells in the brain. It is caused by the formation of a protein with a long polyglutamine sequence. It is a dominant gene. This means that if the child inherits the gene then the child will definitely show symptoms of Huntington disease. So, each child has 50% chance of inheriting the gene meaning that each child has a 50% chance of inheriting the disease.
