The body will break down glycogen from the liver.

To attain the minimum daily requirement of carbohydrates, the body is stimulated to break down glycogen to produce glucose. This is dome by producing glucagon a hormone which breaks down glycogen stored in the liver. In humans, glycogen is made and stored in liver and muscle cells. Muscle cell glycogen is broken down into glucose, and liver glycogen is broken down into glucose as a circulating energy source glucose for use by the body.
