E. d., a 27 year old male, involved in a motor vehicle accident came to the emergency room in an ambulance with obvious signs of tachycardia, dyspnea, bruises and lacerations to his torso, to the right side of his chest, rigidity to the right side of chest and complaining of a sharp tearing chest pain. on examination and diagnostic tests he had 4 fractured ribs on the right side of his thoracic cavity, asymmetrical chest movement, trachea deviated to the left side of the mediastinum, cracking beneath the skin on palpation of the chest and pallor. what is the possible diagnosis for

    Answer: Tension Pneumothorax on Right Hemithorax

    Explanation:

    The patient has a recent motor vehicle accident on his medical record. He has tachycardia (increased HR), dyspnea (difficulty breathing), visible lesions on his thorax, rigidity on the right side of the chest, asymmetrical chest movement, and deviation of the trachea to the left side (because of the pressure on the right thorax)

    It requires immediate treatment, or can result on death.
