How many carnivores are present?

There are more than 270 species that are carnivores. Carnivores can feed on herbivores, omnivores, and even other carnivores in an ecosystem. The carnivores in an ecosystem feeds/devours (on) flesh. A carnivore is able to eat another carnivore since they are also meat. On the other hand, The Omnivores in an ecosystemare more advantageous because their diet is the most diverse, and there is alot of variety. For example, an omnivore; a bear can eat grass, and even meat (they can also eat insects)

The order consists of 12 families and 270 species in all. While some carnivores eat only meat, other carnivores also supplement their diets with vegetation on occasion. For example, most bears are omnivores, which means they eat both plants and meat, McCarthy explained.
