    Explanation:

    Manatees can discriminate the boat engine, the problem is that they are so slowly to move that when they realize that the boat is coming they can not move as fast as the boat get approach. The other factor is that since they are mammals, they need to go to the surface to breath, that is the other reason they are exposed to be bumped by a boat. so the boat trauma is the prime factor in mortality because they can loose some part of their body or be with a lot of scarfs that they can not survive to the accident.
